The Finger Lakes Bed & Breakfast displays a variety of prints and original works throughout the common areas. Much of what you will find was created by our friends or has personal meaning to us. If you're curious about a piece, please feel free to ask us about it. There's usually as story behind everything you see. In addition to our personal collection, we partner with local creative thinkers. Many of the items are available for guests to bring home. And everything is here for your enjoyment and to stimulate creativity and self-expression during your stay.
Kathy Ann Morris
Kathy created a lovely cabinet "Canandaigua Cattails" for the Arc of Yates charity auction that we proudly display as part of our personal collection. Kathy has several oil paintings on exhibit that are available at very reasonable prices to our guests or visitors. She runs a business called NOTT IMPORTED as an outlet for her creative ventures. In addition, Kathy has a BA in English and has taught middle school for 33 years. Be sure to check out her work in the northeast gallery section of the living area.
Staving Artist Woodwork
Dan Mitchell creates function and artistic home decor from wine barrels. Each piece is hand crafted to leave as much of the individual character of the barrel intact in the final piece. Staves are heavily stained by wine and only lightly sanded. Most pieces are original designs and each is different and unique. We are proud to have one of Dan's tables on display and for sale in the main living area.

Elaine Foy, of Middlesex NY, has been a member of the Penn Yan community for over 6 years as an employee of the ARC of Yates County and a coach for the local Special Olympics sports club. Elaine had been honored with awards at state level during her education at Sherman Central School in western New York, when she participated in the 'I Love New York' campaign in 1982 and 1983. Since then Elaine has taken the opportunity to remain creative in her employment, including as a sign maker in Cheyenne, Wyoming and painting a chair for the ARC of Yates Chair-ish benefit auction in 2010. Recently, Elaine's creative drive has had her pick up a chainsaw. You can find her very first pieces on the property of our bed and breakfast. Elaine is striving to become successful in this venture and already has much interest in her work and is looking forward sharing her art and participating in demonstrations showcasing her skills.
